CALL FOR PAPERS

We are accepting four types of proposal formats including WRITTEN PRESENTATIONS and CLINICAL CASES (Poster format), CLINICAL SESSIONS and SYMPOSIUM, require an APA (American Psychological Association) style, all which must be submitted through our computer application found at the end of this page (Click the SUBMIT ABSTRACT button). All submissions require an abstract, which must be written using APA (American Psychological Association) style, and it cannot be less than 250 but no more than 300 words in length.  Abstracts must include the following information:
  • Introduction, objectives, methods, results and discussion (Do not include citations or references).
  • When the papers are not strictly research papers, the methodology that has been followed must be specified.   
The presentations may be conducted in any of the official languages of the Congress (Spanish, English and Portuguese).

The scientific committee and the organizing committee reserve their right to decide the final format of any submission for presentation. The committee will timely inform the participants about the acceptance or rejection of the proposals made, once the submission deadline has expired.

Deadline for abstract submission is JUNE 18, 2018. Only abstracts submitted through our electronic application will be considered for review. The minimum length for the abstracts is 250 words and the maximum length is 300 words.

The electronic Book of Abstracts (with its ISBN designation) will be available online after the congress is over.  All accepted abstracts will be included in the Book Abstracts.

Authors will have the opportunity to submit one of their presentations for review and possible publication as a full-text book chapter.  To submit a chapter proposal for review, please follow the instructions and use our electronic application (Click here for More information). Those chapters accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in a Book of Chapters with ISBN designation. 

IMPORTANT:
At least one of the authors must be registered in the Congress before sending the proposal (in case of a rejection, the author may request a refund of a 100% of the registration payment). Submissions by authors who are not registered in the Congress will not be considered for review.
  • A registered author can submit a maximum of three papers, cand a registered author’s name cannot appear in more than 5 presentations (co-authorship and senior authorship are limited to a maximum of five).
  • The submission of papers, is made from the platform at the end of this page.
  • The presentation can only be done by one of the authors who is registered in the Congress.
  • Certificate of presentations will only be issued to authors and co-authors who are registered in the Congress. The certificate will display first and last name of all authors.  
  • Certificates will only be issued for presentations which are presented at the scheduled time in the format specified by the organizers of the congress. 
All submissions will be presented using one of the following formats: 
WRITTEN COMMUNICATION (POSTER)

Each poster will be exhibited for 1 hour and a half during which the authors must be present to explain their work to those who are interested. The Scientific Committee will group the accepted abstracts in accordance with the Congress themes and assigned them to a poster session.

The size of the poster must be 70x90cm (vertical format)

CLINICAL CASES (WRITTEN FORMAT/POSTER)

Individual proposals for clinical cases must be submitted in a written format. The Committee will group them according to the topic. All summaries of clinical cases must include the following information to be expanded in the poster presentation:


-Patient’s characteristics (no name)      
-Reason for seeking help    
-History of the problem
-Description of the problematic behavior
-Established goals and treatment
-Therapeutic objectives
-Choosing the appropriate treatment
-Choosing and applying evaluation techniques and results obtained in this phase
-Application of the treatment
-Evaluating the treatment’s efficacy
-Follow up: how and when it was done
-Observations

Each poster will be exhibited for 1 hour and a half during  which the authors must be present to explain their work to those who are interested. The size of the poster must be 70x90cm (vertical format)

  CLINICAL SESSION
  Each clinical session will last 1 hour and a half, allowing four to six clinical cases presentations (to be presented by different authors), of 15-10 minutes each, and an overall discussion of 30 minutes. To send the proposal for the presentation of a clinical session, the session’s coordinator must present a general abstract, which will include a list of all the participants in the session, plus an individual abstract of each clinical case.

  SYMPOSIUM
  Each symposium will last 1 hour and a half, allowing for the presentation of four to six oral communications presented by different authors. Each communication must be 10-15 minutes long, depending on the number of communications in the symposium. After the individual presentations, an overall discussion will follow which could last until the end of the session. To send a proposal for the presentation of a symposium, the symposium’s coordinator must submit an overall abstract  and an abstract of each communication consistent with the instruction in our digital platform. .
 

Authors can classify their communication into any of the following topics:
