Item Response Theory and
Computerized Adaptive Testing Workshop
A hands-on workshop for research and the development of modern psychological online tests for the average computer-user.
Thurs., June 25th – Sat., June 27th, 2015 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.
Webster Vienna Private University, Vienna, Austria
Item response theory (IRT) is one of the most advanced methods to develop top quality psychological tests. It is so advanced that most researchers and psychologists shy away from it, can’t meet the requirements, or don’t have the software to utilize it. University of Cambridge’s Psychometrics Centre has pioneered the use of computerized adaptive testing by producing an online, open source, user-friendly program Concerto which makes it possible for anyone to create their very own adaptive test in a matter of hours. The Centre’s staff will be at Webster University to share Concerto with fellow psychologists, researchers and students.
During the first two days the Psychometric Centre will teach students and remind professionals about IRT, its uses and analysis. Their staff aims to meet the participants at their knowledge level and incorporates examples and exercises to enrich the learning process. The final session will run through step-by-step, how to set up and publish an IRT test with their ground breaking online platform, Concerto.
Develop your own IRT based tests: BRING IRT TO LIFE!
The workshops will be done in small groups: limited space available!
