EFPA EMC 33/2015 : Upcoming events of Portuguese European Semester Psychology 2015
European Semester : Psychology for the European Citizens – http://psyes.eu/en
Dear Colleagues,
Over the next three months, the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP), in conjunction with the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA), will be promoting a set of European conferences as part of the European Semester, which will include addresses by several members of the different working groups and committees of EFPA, several national and international psychologists dedicated to different areas of psychology, representatives and Portuguese and international universities, as well as policy makers.
A list of all the activities planned is available at the official website of the European Semester. This website will be updated daily for the next three months, with information on future events, also providing a wealth of materials on psychological research and practice in Portugal and in Europe.
Participants are already welcome to enrol for two events of the European semester:
European Conference – Psychosocial intervention among the immigrant population.
With the cooperation of EFPA’s Standing committee Disaster and Crisis Psychology (Magda Rooze, William Yule,..) with subjects like:
- Refugee and asylum seeking children
- Refugee Crisis – Preparing to meet the psychosocial needs of refugees and asylum seekers
- The experience of psychological support in temporary accommodation to displaced persons from Ukraine
- Family gatherings for refugee families in Norway.
The second part of this conference will focus on the project “1000 Psychologists for Disaster Situations” and will include the presentation of a strategy for the implementation of the psychologist pool and the delivery of the first kits to trained psychologists.

With the cooperation of EFPA’s Standing committee on GeroPsychology
Discuss relevant topics and issues to the professional practice of Psychologists in the area;
– Provide a space for sharing knowledge, practices and experiences in psychological intervention;
– Raise awareness about the role and importance of Psychology and Psychologists in Geropsychology;
– Foster the creation of jobs for Psychologists and generate greater political attention on the subject.
